A barrister and mediator, Peregrine Massey has spent most of his professional life in the international transport, marine and professional indemnity insurance sectors through his company, Thomas Miller, of which he is a Director. Problem-solving and dispute resolution, especially in an international context, have engaged him for much of his career, and he is a qualified mediator.
Educated at Harrow and Magdalene College, Cambridge, he was called to the Bar in 1973. He is a Court Assistant of The Merchant Taylors' Company; and is particularly engaged in educational matters, serving on the Board of the United Church Schools Trust, as Chairman of the Merchant Taylors' Educational Trust, and as Chairman of Governors at Ashford School in Kent.
He and his wife Deirdre (D) have three daughters and live near Tenterden in Kent where their garden is regularly open for charity and under the auspices of the National Gardens Scheme.
