2009/2010
It has been a year of honour and privilege, full of experiences and, I trust, meaningful support and activity.
My Declaration ceremony was held at Ty Newydd, a very handsome Georgian house sitting in wonderful scenery on the edge of the Brecon Beacons.
Mrs Catherine Thomas, Lord Lieutenant of the County officiated as acting Keeper of the Rolls, and was witnessed by their Honours Judge John Curran and Judge Phillip Richards QC, the Mayors of the three authorities within the County together with a host of dignitaries, family and friends. It was a particular delight to share this occasion with friends from Fredericksburg in the USA, along with my fellow incoming sheriffs for Gwent, South and West Glamorgan.
We have enjoyed many memorable occasions during the year, Royal visits, hosting visiting High Court judges, civic functions, citizenship ceremonies, High Sheriff awards, police service awards and many many more, not so grand but equally valued, memories that will stay with me for the rest of my life.
